World Cup 2018 Qualifiers
Jokes about Radio Erevan are fairly common, both on the internet and in real life, but the Armenian national team hasn’t been a joke for some time now. Gone are the days where they were just sparring partners for the big teams.
Now, anyone who wants points against them has to produce good football – and Romania certainly wants to do that, after their 1-1 draw against Montenegro on Day 1.
Armenia vs Romania – 8th October
Betting Odds: Armenia 4.10 or 31/10 Draw 3.40 or 12/5 Romania 2.05 or 21/20
The Armenians are one of those disciplined, hard-working teams which never produce fireworks or big surprises, but are very, very hard to beat on their home ground.
They’ve managed some pretty good results in recent years, like victories over Bulgaria and the Czech Republic or a draw against Denmark.
They might just be able to clinch a point against Romania, a team which doesn’t have the attacking talent it once did, or even win with a little bit of luck.
Meanwhile, the Romanians want to forget the 1-1 draw against Montenegro as quickly as possible, especially after Stanciu’s miss from the penalty spot in the last minute of the game. The group would have looked completely different for them with 3 points after Day 1.
Now, they absolutely must win against Armenia and Kazakhstan to still be in contention for 1st place – losing points against each side would be catastrophic for Daum’s side.
Armenia vs Romania Betting Tips
That being said, we strongly think that Romania will be very motivated to not lose this game – X2 is a clear bet. Moving on, we must say that we don’t expect to see many goals.
Romania had the best defense in the Euro 2016 qualifications, only conceding 2 goals, while the Armenians are not very bad in this sense either.
Under 2,5 – 3,5 goals and over 3,5 cards are all very smart bets – both teams have the habit of conceding cards. Good luck!
