Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – Premier League Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

Arsenal step into the new year with an apparently easy game, against 17-placed Crystal Palace. The away team recently changed their coach and managed to win a point against Watford, and will now be looking to keep the good results flowing and escape the threatening zone as soon as possible. Sadly for them, they face one of the best teams in the league – can they produce the surprise?

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – 01/01/2017

FT Result:  Arsenal 1.33 or 1/3  Draw 5.75 or 19/4  Crystal Palace 10.00 or 9/1

Total Goals Over/Under 2.5:  Over 1.53 or 8/15  Under 2.40 or 7/5

Both Teams To Score:  Yes 1.90 or 10/11  No 1.90 or 10/11

After some great months and great results, the Gunners are actually starting to lose pace. They’ve only won 1-0 against West Brom, although they were highly unlucky and missed lots of clear cut chances until Giroud’s 88th-minute goal. This result came after two defeats, against Everton and Manchester City, which affected the team’s title challenge by a lot.

If they fail to win against Crystal Palace, their title challenge is virtually over, since Chelsea will have the opportunity of putting 12 points between them and the Gunners. Their injury list contains quite a few names as well: Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Gibbs are all doubts, while Mertesacker, Mustafi, Cazorla and Debouchy are 100% out.

On the other hand, Crystal Palace is a very interesting team. They’ve recently sacked Alan Pardew and replaced him with Sam Allardyce, who debuted with a 1-1 draw against Watford – a game which he could have won if Benteke hadn’t missed his penalty. A 29-33 goal difference shows us some great attacking moves, sadly accompanied by some less impressive defending, but also gives us some great betting ideas for this game – especially since Crystal plays better away from home.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips

An Arsenal victory is safe here – the Gunners really need the victory in order to keep close to Chelsea, but we have 3 other ideas which we consider great. “Both teams to score” or “over 2,5” goals are the best ideas here since both teams are missing some key defenders and will look to attack rather than defend. Crystal Palace to score is our last idea of the day since they’ve failed to do so in very few games so far.

Both Teams To Score – Yes @  1.90 or 10/11

Arsenal Win & Both To Score @  2.55 or 31/20  with 138
