Bolton vs Crystal Palace – England FA Cup 2017 – Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips
Bolton and Crystal Palace are two teams which have changed divisions in recent years. They’ve played each other in the Premier League in the 04-05 season, and in the Championship in the 12-13 season.
Now, Bolton is fighting for promotion from the League 1, while Crystal Palace is trying to avoid relegation from the Premier League. Which team will progress in the FA Cup?

Bolton is on the teams which actually went from bad to worse in recent years. After being a Premier League top-half team at the beginning of last decade, they’re now 2nd in the League One, hoping to achieve promotion at the end of the season.
They have the best defense in the division and are in good form at the moment, only losing one of their last 10 games. We’re not certain what type of squad they’ll send out against Crystal Palace, but since they’re playing at home, it’s fair to say that we at least expect a decent fight.
On the other hand, Crysta Palace has a single win in their last 10 games and have recently brought Sam Allardyce in charge of the team. They desperately need points in the Premier League and will likely field a weakened team in the cup, with the main players like Benteke, Zaha or McArthur being rested.
Regardless, they have a squad which is clearly better than Bolton’s, and Sam Allardyce is a good manager. We don’t expect them to make a fool of themselves in the tie as well.
Bolton vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips
That being said, this game is a lot more balanced than it looks on paper, where we see a League One team going against a Premier League one. We expect Crystal Palace to score at least once, while a “both teams to score” bet is another great idea. If you’re looking for higher odds, bet on a draw here – we envision a 1-1 final score between these two teams.
Both Teams To Score – Yes @ 1.83 or 5/6 with 138
Draw With Goals @ 4.40 or 33/10 with 138

The FA Cup is one of the few competitions in the world which still favors a replay system. If two teams draw any time before the semi-finals, the game is replayed with the original away team as the new hosts. This leads to some teams having packed calendars, as is the case of Liverpool – who have to play minnows Plymouth for the second time in a short interval. Each round, we now see a good number of replays, that take their toll on the team’s domestic schedule and, for some, their European fixtures as well. Thankfully, Crystal Palace and Bolton are not involved in European Cups, but they evidently wanted to avoid this second clash between them. Burnley vs. Sunderland was one of the few clashes involving only Premier League teams in the third round, and we’ll now have the chance to see it again, thanks to the 0-0 draw in the first match between the two sides.
