Brighton vs QPR Prediction & Betting Tips – 27/12/2016

Brighton vs Queens Park Rangers – England Championship Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

In another game which takes place on the 27th of December, one of the teams which escaped the back, Brighton, will host QPR, one of the weakest teams in the league in recent weeks. With Brighton clearly being the better team on paper, the question of the game is rather straightforward: do QPR have any chance of producing a surprise here?

Brighton vs QPR – 27/12/2016

FT Result:  Brighton 1.53 or 8/15  Draw 4.33 or 10/3  QPR 7.00 or 6/1

Total Goals Over/Under 2.5:  Over 2.05 or 21/20  Under 1.75 or 3/4

Both Teams To Score:  Yes 2.20 or 6/5  No 1.61 or 8/13

First off, let’s look at the home side. Brighton is currently 2nd, 1 point behind league leaders Newcastle, and have a 35-14 goal difference – with the best defense in the league. They are undefeated in their last 15 games in the league and have won their last 3 league games. Impressive, to say the least. Regardless of the result against QPR, they will finish the year on an automatic promotion spot, but the great quality of their squad should be enough to ensure they win the three points here.

QPR are the exact opposite at the moment. Sitting 19th with 23 points, QPR is in horrible form. 5 consecutive losses, just 7 points in their last 10 games and a very, very bad form for their attackers: only 5 goals in the last 10 games. The only team which was worse over this period is Rotherham, which is sitting bottom of the league and doesn’t have lots of chances to avoid the drop this year. QPR have to start winning points sooner rather than later in order to not get dragged into the relegation battle, but it doesn’t seem like an away game at Brighton is the place to start.

Brighton vs QPR Betting Tips

To put it simply, we expect a home win in this game. We don’t expect QPR to lose heavily because they rarely do, so the most probable scorelines are 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1. Whatever the score, we don’t expect QPR to score more than once, and probably never – since they’re up against the best defense of the championship. Brighton to win and QPR to fail to score are the best ideas we have for this game.
