After a very interesting first day in the new Premier League season, teams will want to hit the ground running as soon as possible.
Everyone knows that bad results in the first 4-5 fixtures can lead to lots of trouble for any team and any manager – and especially for those involved in European competitions as well.
Thus, the levels of determination will go, as everyone will want to win points from any game – just like Burnley will want to do against Liverpool.
Premier League Betting Previews, Odds & Tips – Burnley vs Liverpool
Klopp’s side are set to play the second away game in a row, but we’re sure they won’t be bothered by this. They’ve managed to produce the most surprising and spectacular result of day 1, beating Arsenal 4-3
away from home.
The football they’ve played, especially in the attacking third, was absolutely impressive, and we are waiting to see the same kind of attacks against Burnley as well. The only thing that can stop them will be themselves – if they don’t manage to keep their motivation levels up.
On the other side, Burnley was at the receiving end of an 82nd-minute goal by Leroy Fer which ensured Swansea’s win on Day 1. The result didn’t encourage the newly promoted team at all – Swansea is the kind of team they want to win points against.
They know that Liverpool is a totally different kind of opponent, one they can’t simply go out and try to out-play. Their almost exclusively British team will be set up in a defensive 4-4-2, looking to produce something on counter-attacks.
For us, the game is really a no-brainer. We fancy a Liverpool win, even with a good couple of goals scored. An over 2,5 bet is probably the best idea since Liverpool have a great attacking squad but not that sturdy defense, meaning we might see a Burnley goal as well.
If you’re looking for a goalscorer, think about Coutinho or Mane – both of them will probably repeat their successes of day 1.
Total Goals – Over 2.5: 1.85 or 17/20
Liverpool & Over 2.5: 2.45 or 29/20
