Burnley vs. Sunderland was one of the few clashes involving only Premier League teams in the third round, and we’ll now have the chance to see it again, thanks to the 0-0 draw in the first match between the two sides. While Burnley sits rather comfortably just below the middle of the Premier League standings, Sunderland will clearly favor their relegation battle over this game. Can we see an easy home victory here?

Burnley will surely be the most relaxed of the two teams since they aren’t very threatened by relegation at the moment. They have a good number of points between them and 18th spot, and while they still have to produce a professional job in the second part of the season, they’re safe for now. Their home ground is their main advantage in the League, where Manchester City and Arsenal the only sides to win there in the last ten games. With that good of a record, they are seen as favorites against Sunderland.
This is particularly the case since the Black Cats’ away form is the exact opposite of Burnley’s home form. They have only one two of their last ten away games. Moreover, they will play this cup tie between two critical league games, against Stoke and West Brom – both teams they can theoretically win points against. This leads us to the idea that they will probably feature a weakened side, or won’t put lots of emphasis on the cup tie.
Burnley vs Sunderland Betting Tips
That being said, Burnley to qualify is one favorite bet of the day. We aren’t necessarily saying that the home side will win (although we do believe this will happen), but at the end of the day, Burnley will progress. Sunderland will score once at most, so the easy bets here are either 1X or Sunderland under 1,5 goals. Good luck!

The FA Cup is one of the few competitions in the world which still favors a replay system. If two teams draw any time before the semi-finals, the game is replayed with the original away team as the new hosts. This leads to some teams having packed calendars, as is the case of Liverpool – who have to play minnows Plymouth for the second time in a short interval.
