World Cup 2018 Qualifying
Colombia – Chile could easily be the derby of the day in the South American qualifiers, but it’s played at the same time with Brazil – Argentina.
The two teams are currently in a direct rivalry for 4th place, the last one that leads directly to the World Cup, without the need for a playoff. How will the two teams fare?

Colombia is currently 4th, with one point over their rivals, but has every reason to be worried. Their home form is a bit shaky, winning only three of their last five games, but their home form against Chile is especially awful.
They haven’t managed to beat the Chileans at home since 2005. The last 5 game were either Chilean victories or draws, and tradition can take a serious toll in these games.
Moreover, some of the best Colombian players seem out of form at the moment, and they really have to be at their best in order to gain a win.
On the other hand, Chile is very inconsistent at the moment. They alternate wins with losses very easily and currently sit on 5th place – very low for a team which won the Copa America recently, beating Argentina in the final.
Alexis Sanchez in a great form at the moment, thankfully for them, and will lead them in the game against Colombia. A draw wouldn’t be the end of the world for them either since it will keep them close to the Colombians.
Colombia vs Chile Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, we do see Chile having a narrow edge here, given their current form and good tradition against Columbia.
We think X2 is a smart idea, while Chile +1 is the safe alternative to that. Alexis Sanchez is the most likely goalscorer on both sides, while we also expect to see quite a good number of yellow cards – at least 3 or 4.
