Germany – Czech Republic is, at least in theory, the derby for 1st place in the group C. The two teams are the best in the group, at least on paper, although the Czechs are pretty far away in terms of quality from the World Champions. The first episode of this clash will take place in Germany, and we’re very curious to see the outcome.
Germany vs Czech Republic – 8th October
In the first game of the group, the Germans disposed of Norway easily, 3-0. They’ve shown their clear, offensive football that we all know they’re capable of, even without some of their old players.
Their new generation, led by Ozil, Draxler or Kimmich, will want to do something that nobody has done before: defend their World Cup title.
The game against the Czech is the first one they play at home after their early exit at Euro 2016 – their home fans will surely want to see the team.
Speaking of the Czechs, they haven’t been impressive in recent times. They only managed a 0-0 draw against N. Ireland in their group debut, after a disappointing performance at Euro 2016. Although their recent results haven’t been horrible, the far more worrying aspect is the quality of their game.
They don’t seem to be able to keep the ball for long periods of time, let alone score – meaning that they will rely on their defense and their young, quick wingers to gain a credible result against the Germans.
Germany vs Czech Republic Betting Tips
We think they won’t be able to do so. Germany has the better team, is in better form and also has home ground advantage.
We’re not only expecting a home win, we even think that Germany will win by at least two goals. So, if you’re looking for high odds, Germany -1,5 is the way to go, while a surebet would be Germany to score. Take your pick.
