Moving with our betting predictions further, we now have a look in Group I, which has been very interesting on Day 1. All 3 games finished with the exact same score, 1-1, so we are in the unique position of having 6 league leaders. This will surely (or hopefully) change after day two, where we expect some results different than draws.
Iceland vs Finland – 6th October
Betting Odds: Iceland 1.66 or 4/6 Draw 3.75 or 11/4 Finland 6.50 or 11/2
One of the games that caught our attention was the once between Iceland and Finland. The two teams have quite different objectives in this campaign.
The Icelanders surely want to show that Euro 2016 was no accident and they can pose a threat to the “bigger” teams in the group like Croatia, Turkey or Ukraine.
They’ve managed to win a point in Ukraine on Day 1, a good feat, and will now be looking for their first win at home against Finland.
The team has not lost at home in quite some time, even managing surprising wins against the likes of Holland or the Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, Finland is a team with very little to show in recent years. Almost always finishing 4th or 5th in qualifying groups, the team won’t be competing for anything spectacular this time around.
They marked a 1-1 draw against debutants Kosovo on Day 1 and will travel to Iceland focusing on defense and not losing. We don’t expect them to concede lots of goals, due to their overall good defense, but the Nordic team won’t be scoring very much either.
Iceland vs Finland Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, we think that the Icelanders will not lose this game. Due to their good home form and the Fin’s bad away form, the bet should be rather straightforward.
We do believe that the game will also feature few goals, under 2,5 to be more specific. And if you want higher odds, the best idea we could find is placing two bets on the most probable final scores: 1-0 or 1-1. Good luck!
