Ireland – Georgia is one of the games which we will follow in Group D. This group is one of those qualifying groups which are open to any kind of results and the race for 1st and 2nd place is very balanced.
After day 1, Wales and Austria have 3 points, while Ireland secured a 2-2 draw in Serbia. Will they manage their first group win against Georgia?
Ireland vs Georgia – 6th October
Betting Odds: Ireland 1.50 or 1/2 Draw 4.20 or 16/5 Georgia 8.00 or 7/1
We would be inclined to say so. The Georgians have been very weak in recent campaigns, never finishing upper than 5th or last place in any group.
They usually play abysmal away from home and only rely on their home crowd carrying them to victory to actually win points in the group.
They have met Ireland 7 times in the last 16 years, and were defeated each and every time, with scores ranging from 0-1 o 0-4. Indeed, their preferred scoreline was 1-2, but that still means the Irish will win the game.
And the green and whites actually look good ahead of this game. After a good Euro 2016 campaign and a 2-2 draw against the Serbians on day 1, they are now looking for their first win of the campaign.
They know they need to win this kind of games if they want to qualify for the World Cup, and will be relying on their attacking force and individual talent to carry them to victory. Their recent home form is quite good, also.
Ireland vs Georgia Betting Tips
To sum things up, Ireland will come on top of this game, due to history, recent form and better quality. If you’re looking for a safe bet, 1X is perfect for you, but if you want larger odds, a solo home victory should provide some.
We don’t believe a lot of goals will be scored, but we’re not sure if the final number will be 2 or 3 – so under 3,5 goals is the bet we’re sure of. Enjoy!
