Latvia and Hungary are the most disappointing teams in Group B so far – a group which is going very different than expected.
Switzerland is the leaders after winning two of their most complicated games, while the other teams are just not living up to the expectations so far. Hungary wants to see a World Cup in 2018 – but do they stand a chance?
Latvia vs Hungary – 10/10/2016
After barely qualifying for the final tournament of Euro 2016, the Hungarians managed some great results and even exited their group.
In the World Cup qualifiers, they’ve lost at home against Switzerland and only managed a 0-0 draw against Faroe – a real minnow which proves to be quite difficult for Hungary to beat recently. Without a win in Latvia, the Hungarians won’t stand a chance to compete for second place in the group.
Thankfully for them, the small Baltic team isn’t doing great either. After a very narrow win against Andorra on day one, they managed to lose 0-2 against Faroe at home – one of the best results in the history of the small oceanic nation.
Although Latvia doesn’t have any objective in this group, results like that surely hurt their home fans, which will demand a much better outing from their favorites in the game against Hungary.
If they manage to avoid defeat, Latvia could easily transform in the referee of the group – whichever team loses points with them will have a hard time going forward.
Latvia vs Hungary Betting Tips
Sadly for them, Hungary will have far better motivation and have shown that they can produce quality football – equalizing twice against the Swiss in their 2-3 loss. We back Hungary to avoid defeat, so X2 is a clear idea.
An away win wouldn’t be surprising at all, and also has great odds, while we also expect a game with lots of yellow cards – at least 3-4 between the two teams, with probably more on the Hungarian side.
