International Champions Cup 2016 Betting Previews, Odds And TipsHow can a game featuring Liverpool and Barcelona ever be boring? The two teams are known for their spectacular clashes, turnarounds and attacking football, as well as being able to produce wonders when you least expect it. Let’s take a moment to remember Liverpool’s last winning final against AC Milan or Iniesta’s goal that sent Barcelona in a Champions League final.
06/08/2016 – London, England
Betting Odds: Liverpool 5.05 or 4/1 Draw 4.05 or 3/1 Barcelona 1.60 or 20/33Although somewhat unexpected, Barcelona have been one of the most active teams in this year’s transfer market. They’ve mostly signed players from the French and Spanish markets (Digne, Umtiti or Andre Gomes) and are now linked with Gignac as well, since they are looking for a strong backup striker. One could argue that a championship-winning team hardly needs improvements, but there were some key moments during last season when the squad’s depth was not enough – especially in defense. Apart from this, there really isn’t much new news to share about the squad. The MSN trio is still in full force and will surely terrify oppositions in the next season as well. In a similar fashion, Liverpool have done quite a few dealings on the transfer market as well. This was the first chance Klopp got to seriously tailor the squad to his needs and wants and has done so by signing quite a few players from Germany. His biggest signing, however, is Mane from Southampton, who joins an already stellar attacking force, which features Coutinho, Firmino, Origi, Benteke and Lallana just to name a few. Judging by this transfer activity and the way Liverpool looked in their first friendlies, Klopp’s intentions seem clear : They must compete for each and every competition they start in. A bold objective for a bold club.
