Group C is, without a doubt, the most boring one of Day 6. Barcelona are certain of finishing 1st, Man City will surely finish 2nd, and Gladbach and Celtic will finish 3rd and 4th.
Given these facts, it’s very hard to think that any of the two games will provide good betting opportunities – but we’ll try to come up with some ideas for the game between Manchester City and Celtic.
Manchester City vs Celtic – 06/12/2016
FT Result: Man City 1.33 or 1/3 Draw 5.75 or 19/4 Celtic 9.50 or 17/2
Total Goals Over/Under 2.5: Over 1.44 or 4/9 Under 2.70 or 17/10
Both Teams To Score: Yes 1.70 or 7/10 No 2.05 or 21/20
The first game between the two sides was very surprising and ended in a 3-3 draw. Celtic have won a single point except for that game, a 1-1 draw against Gladbach, which quickly turned to dust due to a 0-2 defeat in Germany.
All in all, the Scots didn’t make a fool of themselves in their games, apart from the first one – the 0-7 defeat against Barcelona.
They will want to leave the CL with a good impression and will give City a good run for their money, although they don’t have the habit of picking up points in Europe away from home.
On the other hand, Guardiola’s team comes after a very disappointing 1-3 defeat at home against Chelsea. They’re already qualified and the game against Celtic will give Pep the opportunity to give young players some much needed playing time.
Even if City will play with 5-6 reserves, they are still the better team by far and should have no problem winning the game, especially in front of their home fans.
Manchester City vs Celtic Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, things are fairly clear for us: we expect a spectacular game with City the most likely winners.
Over 2,5 goals is a great idea, both teams to score is a great idea, and combining a City home win with any of the above ideas is another great idea. All in all, we believe City to do rather well – so a handicap victory is also something to consider.
