Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest – England Championship Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

St. James park is ready for the last game in 2016. At the beginning of the year, the best teams in the Premier League came to play at the stadium – now, they prepare to host Nottingham Forrest in the last game of the year. Surely, this can’t qualify as a good year for the Magpies, but they surely want to end it in style.

FT Result:  Newcastle 1.36 or 4/11  Draw 5.25 or 17/4  Nottingham Forest 9.50 or 17/2

Total Goals Over/Under 2.5:  Over 1.65 or 13/20  Under 2.20 or 6/5

Both Teams To Score:  Yes 1.90 or 10/11  No 1.80 or 4/5

Newcastle’s return to the Premier League seemed like a simple formality at the beginning of the season. Rafa Benitez guided the side very well in the first 23 games, winning 16 league games and having a 45-18 goal difference. The team does lack concentration sometimes, like in their 0-1 home defeat against Sheffield, but can easily beat anyone in the league even at 80% of their full potential. Weird enough, Newcastle plays much better away than in front of their home fans, where they’ve lost 2 of their last 5 games. It’s also worth mentioning that they very rarely lose two games in a row.

On the other hand, Nottingham is having a rather dull season, sitting 18th with 26 points and a 36-41 goal difference – the second-worst defense in the league. It seems like they won’t be very worried about relegation this season, but won’t produce any fireworks either. With a single win in their last 5 games and with an even worse away form, it’s fair to say that we don’t expect them to produce any surprises against Newcastle.

Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tips

That being said, a solo home win is the easiest bet of the day. We’d even go for Newcastle to score at least twice, or even a Newcastle -1,5 bet, for a chance do double your money. An over 2,5 goals bet is also a smart idea since Newcastle are more than able to score three times, while a goal from Nottingham could really open up the game. Goalscorer to watch: Dwight Gayle.
