For the spectacle of the Champions League, a group with the composition of group A is common each year and is both good and bad. On the one hand, games between the top two teams (PSG and Arsenal in this game) and the bottom two teams (Basel and Ludogorets) are almost always extremely one-sided. On the other hand, though, we get to see two games between PSG and Arsenal – although with not a lot on the table.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Arsenal
Thankfully, from a neutral fan’s perspective, Arsenal are seemingly horrible at playing in the Champions League group stages. They’re known for extremely surprising results, like losing to Dinamo Zagreb or failing to win against much weaker opposition.
This year, the Gunners seem to be in line for second place, although PSG doesn’t seem very impressive in this season start. Of course, both teams want to go as far as possible in the competition, and other two teams probably won’t be able to stop them.
The French team will start the competition on home ground, a stadium which misses Zlatan dearly so far. PSG lack consistency and results in the beginning of this season, but Unai Emery is known to be a great coach – he must probably just needs a few more weeks to get the team into top form.
Sadly, they know that avoiding defeat in this first game is probably enough to send them well on their way to knockout round qualification – double wins against Basel and Ludogorets coupled with a draw against Arsenal ensures at least 13 points.
PSG vs Arsenal Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, we are looking for a rather even game, but we fancy both teams to score. PSG’s home ground will prove to be a good advantage, but Arsenal should be able to score as well.
Coupled with this, an over 1,5 or 2,5 goal bet is another clear one, but we’d steer clear of outright winners for this one. There are plenty more games to choose from if you’re looking for solo 1X2.
Both Teams To Score: 1.75 or 3/4
Total Goals – Over 2.5: 1.80 or 4/5
