Mintbet Sportsbook and Casino Review
Transitioning from a family-owned business to an online, multi-national betting site isn’t something that all bookmakers can do. Some of them are poised to stick to the brick and mortar approach, while others get simply left behind by the fast pace of the business.
Although there seems to be a place for anyone in the gambling industry, it really doesn’t wait for everyone – if you’re slow to adapt to everchanging trends, you won’t enjoy success.
Some bookies, though, did manage to make the change from traditional betting shops to online bookmakers. Today, we’ll be reviewing a broker which is, at the same time, one of the newest and oldest we’ve seen: Mintbet.
We say oldest because in essence, Mintbet is a rebranding of McBride Racing Ltd, an Irish family bookmaker established all the way back in 1979. They had tens of shops across Ireland and Northern Ireland, and have decided to rebrand themselves as “Mintbet” in 2017, aiming to take the betting industry by storm.
Free Bets & Sign-Up Bonus Offers*
There are lots of things Mintbet does differently than other bookmakers, starting from one thing we enjoy analyzing for every bookie: the welcome bonus.
As with a lot of other betting sites, Mintbet has two welcome bonuses for their customers: one for sportsbook fans, and a different one for casino players. The sportsbook one is particularly of interest to us, especially since it’s quite unique: it’s not a standard welcome bonus, like a free bet or deposit matching.
Mintbet Free Bets For Life – £10 Weekly Up To £520 Yearly*
It’s actually a lifelong, continuous bonus scheme which is offered to all Mintbet new customers. This makes Mintbet one of the prime places to go if you’re looking for a serious, dedicated, long-term partner, but not ideal for those of you looking for quick, easy money.
The bonus works like this: every week, you are eligible to receive a £10 free bet, as long as you have placed at least 10 $10 bets over the course of the week, at odds of 2.00 minimum. Doesn’t sound like a lot at the moment, but think of the total yearly sum!
We’re talking about a potential £520 in free bets – if you naturally place those £10 bets per week, the free bets just come as a bonus! Make sure to read the terms and conditions of the bonus on the Mintbet website to ensure that you’re familiar with every condition they outline.
New! Free Bet: Bet £10 Get £10*
Place a 1st bet of £10 or greater and if your bet loses, you get a £5 free bet plus £5 casino bonus.
Mintbet Casino Welcome Bonus Up To £500*
The casino welcome bonus is no laughing matter either – although it’s not nearly as unique as the sportsbook one. For new casino customers, Mintbet offers a 100% welcome bonus, up to £500. The upper limit is the more interesting part of the bonus, as most other bookmakers choose to limit their signup bonus at £50 or £100, tops.
By essentially doubling the industry average, Mintbet shows that they mean business and want as many customers as possible to join their betting website. Thankfully (both for them and for these customers), the offers don’t stop once you’ve opened an account with Mintbet, a sign of a very healthy gambling site.
Betting Markets and Sports Sellection
For sport bettors, for example, Mintbet offers a variety of promotions: A World Cup money back promotion, a 20% cash boost for Trebles and 4-fold accumulators, a 100% boost for the “first goal scorer” bet for the World Cup, and many more. As always, be sure to check the website to see all their bonuses, as well as their terms and conditions.
Of course, these bonuses wouldn’t be that useful if you didn’t have a place where you could use them, right? With that in mind, we’ve started looking at the markets and odds Mintbet offers their customers – and we weren’t surprised about what we found. Mintbet is, and the end of the day, an Irish bookmaker, and it’s clear that they made sure they stay that way.
We haven’t found E-sports, political bets or other unusual markets, and maybe not all the sports that some of us may want. But we did find everything we wanted regarding football, horse racing, greyhound racing, tennis, snooker, darts, and all the other sports which we enjoy in the British Isles.
In-Play Football Betting at Mintbet
Take football betting, for example: we’ve found every single league and game we could think of, and the odds were easily comparable to that of any other bookmaker. Their World Cup selection is also very good, including lots of special bets for the favorites: how many points they make in the group, where they stop, who the top goal scorer will be, total goals and points in the group, etc.
In-play betting works lovely with Mintbet as well, both using the website as well as their mobile app. All in all, we can’t complain too much about their selection of sports and markets, especially since they’re targeted at an audience who knows what it wants.
Mobile Betting, the Website and App
Speaking of the app, we must give kudos to the Mintbet development team. While the website might be a bit clunky to use, as it isn’t built on the typical betting website template (this can be seen as a good thing as well), the mobile app works brilliant.
Very easy to navigate through, well built, and with all the information you need just one swipe away, the Mintbet betting app is surely one of the best in the business. The general look and feel of their website and mobile app, as well as their entire business, is nicely summed up in the word “mint” – the color scheme is built around the shade of green, while everything else about the bookmaker is fresh and relaxing.
Money Management and Customer Support
All these good points are also complimented by healthy money management methods, as well as good customer support. Although, this time around, “healthy” only means “quick and easy”. Deposit and withdraw times are very short, but they only offer credit and debit cards as payment methods.
E-wallets are nowhere to be seen at the moment, which might be a disappointment for some fans. On the other hand, customer support works nicely and on numerous platforms: live chat, Facebook chat, or email ([email protected]).
To sum up, we believe that Mintbet have one of the best retention schemes in the entire UK betting scene. Their sportsbook welcome bonus doesn’t give a lot for new customers at the beginning, and might not suit “bonus hunters”, but may be just perfect for those of you who plan on placing many bets each week. They won’t cater to everyone, clearly – but a selection of fans will utterly adore Mintbet.
