Group F is one of the European Qualifying groups we haven’t touched so far in our betting previews. One of the interesting games of Day 2 in this group will take place in Scotland, where the national team will face Lithuania.
Although the game seems rather easy for the locals on paper, history tells us that the Lithuanians are a team which shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Scotland vs Lithuania – 8th October
Betting Odds: Scotland 1.45 or 9/20 Draw 4.33 or 10/3 Lithuania 9.50 or 17/2
Scotland managed to respect their stature and beat Malta 5-1 in their debut. They showed active, direct and strong football, a typical British style, which was more than enough to ensure victory against the minnows.
Their footballers seem in fine form, and with a hint of luck can even challenge for first place in the group – depending on the results of the “Battle of Britain” games against local rivals England. Overall, we back them to do well in the near future – their squad has reached optimum maturity.
On the other hand, Lithuania started with a 2-2 home draw against Slovenia, in the derby for 4th place in the group. They are generally seen as one of the weaker teams in the group and won’t produce lots of fireworks.
Their game is usually based on defense and counter attacks, and it’s highly unlikely that they will change this for their visit in Scotland.
It’s also worth mentioning that Lithuania failed to produce a single surprising result in recent years – just a few expected victories over teams like Estonia, San Marino, and Lichtenstein.
Scotland vs Lithuania Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, we’re going with the Scots for this game. We especially think they will not lose this game, and even have a rather good chance of winning.
1X is the clearest bet, and Scotland to score is another no-brainer. The high-odd bet for the game is a solo home win. Good luck!
