After Day 2, Group D is the most balanced group, after teams also managed to record other results than draws in Group I.
We now see four teams with four points in Group D, two of which (Serbia and Austria) will play each other in the next game.
Both teams come after rather good results, and a loss would hurt their chances quite a lot – will we see a peaceful draw, then?
Serbia vs Austria – 9th October
The Austrians come after another draw, home in Vienna, against Wales. They managed to come back from 0-1 and 1-2 to finish the game 2-2, and are still undefeated in the group.
History doesn’t tell us a lot about their clash against Serbia, since they only met twice in history, with two defeats lined up for Austria – but these happened before they started actually counting in qualifiers. Now, this is a derby for 1st place in the group – one which the Austrians would hate to lose.
The Serbians have started their campaign so far with a draw against Ireland and an easy win away from home in Moldova and would like to continue their undefeated run as long as possible.
Although they clearly don’t have the strength they once had, beating them (especially at home) isn’t an easy task for anyone. They too would be content with a draw, ending the two games in October with 4 points.
Serbia vs Austria Betting Tips
Hopefully, the game will not be clearly going towards a draw – which will prove rather boring to watch. We see this clash as very balanced, but we do expect to see at least 2 goals – so over 1,5 if you’re feeling safe, and both to score if you’re feeling a little riskier. If you do want to bet on the final result, 1X is the best we can think of. Home ground advantage should prove key in this game.
Total Goals – Over 1.5: 1.40 or 2/5
Both Teams To Score – Yes: 1.95 or 19/20
