The fight for second place in England’s group is proving to be fierce. Scotland and Slovakia were the main contenders before the start of the qualifiers, but after two games, we’re not sure the Slovaks can surpass their current bad form and compete. Meanwhile, the Scots are looking for their first World Cup in quite some time – but also have a long way to go.
Slovakia vs Scotland – 11/10/2016
A victory in Malta and a draw at home against Lithuania are hardly things to brag with. Yes, they’ve gathered 4 points from their first two games, but they were widely expected to do exactly this.
The game in Slovakia is their first real test of the group, against a team which is much, much hungrier for points than they are.
Since Slovakia lost their first two games, even a defeat in Bratislava wouldn’t be the end of the world for the Scots – while a win could send Slovakia completely out of the race.
This is something the Slovaks know very well. If they fail to win any points against Scotland, they are 99% out of the race for second place.
After losing their first two games with the same score, 0-1, Slovakia desperately needs a win in order to not lose touch with Scotland and Slovenia.
A win won’t be easy to produce – especially since they aren’t playing very well recently and relying a lot on Hamsik to produce something special. If the talented midfielder if well shut down, their chances of victory drop dramatically.
Slovakia vs Scotland Betting Tips
The game between Scotland and Slovakia seems very balanced and rather difficult to predict, but we do have some ideas. Under 3,5 is a good idea, and 1X is another one – we think Slovakia will have much better motivation to do well.
1-0 or 1-1 are the most probable scores, despite the fact that the Slovaks really need the win. If you think they can do it, go for a solo home win – there’s a good possibility that it will happen.
