Uruguay vs Ecuador Predictions & Betting Tips – 11/11/2016

World Cup 2018 Qualifying

Day 11 of the South American qualifiers brings us some very interesting games. Apart from the already famous Brazil – Argentina and Columbia – Chile, we have a game between the current holders of 2nd and 3rd place – Uruguay and Ecuador.

The home team seems the clear favorite, at least considering tradition, and current form, but will the game be that easy for Uruguay?

FT Result:  Uruguay 1.61 or 8/13  Draw 4.00 or 3/1  Ecuador 6.50 or 11/2

Total Goals Over/Under 2.5:  Over 2.00 or 1/1  Under 1.80 or 4/5

Both Teams To Score:  Yes 2.00 or 1/1  No 1.75 or 3/4

Uruguay’s current form seems to indicate this. They are sitting in second place, after Brazil, and have the best defense in the qualifying group, with only 7 goals conceded.

They don’t have the habit of losing at home, and it’s also worth mentioning that they NEVER lost at home against Ecuador in history, although the two teams have played quite a few games together.

Their last games ended in draws, but it’s safe the home team is favorites for this game. They come after two commanding wins, against Paraguay and Venezuela, and a credible 2-2 draw away against Columbia.

Meanwhile, after starting this campaign very good, Ecuador seems to be losing speed. Losses against Brazil and Peru were followed by a commanding 3-0 victory over Chile and a disappointing away draw against Bolivia.

It’s safe to say their away game isn’t the best at the moment, and a win in Uruguay would come as a surprise. A loss wouldn’t hurt them a lot since they currently sit on 17 points, which means they won’t be forced to attack.

Uruguay vs Ecuador Betting Tips

All things considered, we’re going for a home win. 1X is a surebet at the moment, since we don’t think Ecuador will defy tens of years of history, but we also think Uruguay will win this game.

Ecuador under 1,5 goals is another surebet since the home defense will prove hard to beat. Last but not least, we don’t expect lots of goals, so under 3,5 or 2,5 (for better odds) are both good ideas.
