Historically, games between Valencia and Barcelona have been close. The most recent exception that comes to mind is a 7-0 win for Barca when Neville was coaching Valencia, but last season’s confrontations even saw a draw.
Now, Barcelona comes after a 4-0 victory over City in midweek, but one where they lost Alba and Pique to injuries. Will Valencia profit?
Valencia vs Barcelona – 22/10/2016
Betting Odds: Valencia 7.00 or 6/1 Draw 5.25 or 17/4 Barcelona 1.40 or 2/5
In this season of La Liga, Valencia seems to like winning with 2-1. Sadly for them, they only manage to take all the points against adversaries like Leganes, Alaves, and Gijon. They clearly aren’t the side that was challenging for the La Liga title 15 years ago and are now trying to achieve a mid-table finish.
Barcelona has also bought two of their best players this summer, Alcacer and Andre Gomes, and the team isn’t finding its balance without them very well. A defeat against Barcelona with a decent scoreline won’t probably disappoint them too badly.
On the other hand, Barca has started playing better and better and finding their tempo in recent games. The only bad news for them is the fact that they miss Alba and Pique through injuries, and we all know how bad Mathieu can be.
But even if Barca concede 1, 2 or 3 goals, they’re more than able to out-score their opponents. Their attacking players are in great form, with the exception of Suarez, who is bound to find his form sooner or later.
Valencia vs Barcelona Betting Tips
From a betting perspective, we actually think Barcelona has extremely decent odds to win this game – around 1,40 at most betting agencies.
They should put a few goals in Valencia’s net, and Messi will surely score one or two. Also, a “both teams to score” bet is smart, since Barcelona’s defense won’t be extremely impressive in this game. Good luck!
